Temporarily...........no. It's still a long time coming before campaign season, and Trump or somebody could gain some political traction. But he does look real miniscule right about now after last night's news. I bet more than a few conservative pundits and politicians are pissed right now, or at least disappointed that this happened on Obama's watch. I bet more than a few JWs are hoping this is a prelude to Peace & Security. I bet more than a few JWs are wondering if Osama will be resurrected, and who's gonna study with him in the new system. Will he have to shave and wear khakis and a tucked in polo shirt?

How much do you truly believe you would enjoy living in a perfect world? Paradise...
by stillstuckcruz inwhat sort of conversations could you have in a perfect world?
i have a hard enough time creating conversation in this world.
when i need a conversation topic, i might mention a news story, or some problem such as the price of gas.

No Room For George
For the past couple years I've been thinking to myself, if it is true, and I'm fortunate or unfortunate enough to be there, I want to go somewhere where there will be absolutely no human contact for at least a few years. I don't want to be around anybody. I wouldn't mind the animals roaming freely, but I want absolutely nothing to do with humans for a few years. Sick of people, in particular sick of other Jehovah's Witnesses. If I end up in the new system, I'll probably be the first Cain, aka the first one to kill somone.
Something you guys may or may not be neglecting, is that the paradise doesn't just happen overnight. We're going to have to do a whole lot of cleaning up, but get this....we're going to have a whole lot of meetings, and bible studies with those resurrected. It will be a neverending cleanup of debris and neverending field service, at least for a ONE THOUSAND YEARS. I'll be honest with you, as a born-in, I've had my share of meetings and field service, and if this religion's teachings are true about the future, I think I'd rather be dead. I might just step out in front of the bus today during my lunch break.

DJEggNogg wrote: I don't believe your "upbringing" as one of Jehovah's Witnesses ever included the "occasional nigger joke," did it? You make not like Trump's language, but what are your language here?
Actually DJ, you're only partially wrong on what you believe about my upbringing as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, although I have to add, my upbringing as a black Jehovah's Witness. Amongst other black JWs, I've never heard any "nigger" jokes, but I've heard plenty of "nigga" jokes. Obviously no white brother will make a "nigger" joke in my presense, so on that end of things, you're right.
As I asked @moshe, I might ask how it is you would interpret the following?
Anyone in the majority that is more likely than not to treat others that they perceive as being, not just different than, but inferior in comparison with themselves, and for whom raising questions as to the character, abilities or intellectual achievements of someone in the minority because of their race isn't viewed as offensive but as copacetic to them, is a racist.
You'll have no disagreement from me there. You pretty much just summed up the subtlety of caste systems existant in lands where there supposedly is none. You also illustrated the evolution of outward racism in this country from how it was manifest several decades ago, to how its manifest subtlely today.
One question DJ, what gives? Its unlike you to participate in a thread such as this. Something touch a chord?

The F. word is vulgar but wishing a terrorist attack on the Brittish royal wedding is acceptable in your opinion? What an odd set of values.
I don't want to derail this thread, but you're right, I can't disagree with you on that, you got me. It was is inappropriate of me to think that way and express it. What you just posted, and what you mentioned earlier in the other thread did hit me. I feel guilty, and wish I hadn't had that thought and post. You know what though, I aint no good, never been any good, and this is one of those moments when I'm gonna let my heart be obstinate and repeat to you that I wouldn't care if Osama personally would have flown a 747 into that wedding. I know its wrong, but so what. I'm probably a gonner come Armageddon any way. It was wrong to put that crap on TV and force all that media coverage down our throats. Besides, they're living the good life, you think when they're on their yacht living it up, they care that some unknown bum on a message board for cult rejects in America stated that he could care less if a terrorist flew a plane into their wedding?

I haven't went through this entire thread, plus I said my piece on Trump in the other thread, but I don't think Trump is racist per say. At least not in the KKKish view of the term, or even the mom/pop occasional nigger joke behind closed doors description of being racist. What I do believe is he's race bating in a subtle manner by pandering to certain elements within the crowd of Obama haters. I can't call the Tea Party racist because there's black Tea Partiers, but there's enough racists in the Tea Party to conjure the old thought of where there's smoke, there's...........
I believe Trump is playing on the conservative crowd's inability to narrow down a viable candidate to run against Obama come election time. You want to know the crazy part to me? Call me nuts, but he has no intention on running, this is all strictly a popularity move, and he's playing all of these passionate anti-Obama crowds for the fools that they are. Just like throwing chum into the ocean to attract sharks, Thee Donald will throw a little bit of Birther into the water, a little bit of Affirmative Action via questioning Obama's academic credentials, and anything else to continue stoking the fire of Obama's detractors. He's pretty much playing the role of Vince Mcmahon in the political arena.
That's my two cents anyway. One thing that bugs me though, is his language. I thought that was completely inappropriate, and it actually played to my JW upbringing because I swear people are getting cruder and more vulger in public than ever before. I was hoping at some point there would be a backlash against that kind of language, but it seems like the entire country as a culture is going to continue pushing the boundaries on profanity. Who would have thought a movie with child actors entitled "Kick-Ass" would be acceptable thirty years ago? It's not right. Maybe I'm getting older, but the crude language, tattoos, kids cussing, naked people on TV, Reality TV.......we're turning into a nation of savages.

Being raciest, need clarity.
by free2beme ingrowing up a witness, and having black friends and and relatives.
i was kind of in the dark as to what being a raciest was really based on.
so as i get older and think about it more, i thought it might be an interesting question to discuss what you think makes a person raciest and how they base this thinking.. i am going to use the african american racism in this example, as i think that more then any other group.

p.s. Before you do, you might want to learn how to spell "racism" and "racist".
I thought about this for a split second when I noticed the thread title. I though to myself, "hmmmm.....what's being raciest?" Images of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and that old guy who says,"Stay thirsty my friends", all went rummaging through my mind.
This thread has potential, but as other mentioned, the thread title and opening post may get some thoughts misconstrued.
I also think the question is a bit flawed. I think you would have been better off asking what you think are the sources of , i.e. feeling of superiority, xenaphobia, protectionism, fear or ignorance, etc
I like the way you adjusted the original question, because the answers as to where racism, prejudices, xenophobia and all that jazz are pretty complicated, and one guy's hatred will result from different sources than another person's contempt. Everything from upbringing, negative experiences when dealing with "others", common views within a community that make it difficult for an individual residing within that community to reach his/her own conclusion about other people, etc.. Not to mention you can't lump all racists in the same category anymore. You've got white nationalists, but you also have white seperatists. You can go on Stormfront right now, and periodically you'll see a poster that states he's a white nationalist, but he was hanging out with his black friends. That really through me for a loop when I used to lurk there out of fascination like, "so this is what extremist white folks think..."
Black people are the same way. My dad would never admit it, but he hates white people. He's in his own self denial about it. Much of it is a result of what he experienced growing up in this country, and to be honest I'd have a hard time not hating white people too had I shared his experiences. As it stands, I haven't, and too many white dudes looked out on my behalf and did good by me, but then again my generation is different from those that preceded us. My dad on the other hand will freely say in his house that he doesn't care what happens to white people. Then he'll backtrack because he recognizes the hypocrisy in his thoughts and will admit its not right to think like that. Like when the BP Oil Spill happened, and many white fisherman were affected negatively, possibly losing the only way they know to make a living. I remember he would make comments like, "why should I care about them? Those same ones and their fathers did everything in their power to keep us down. When the Vietamese went to buy fishing boats in this country decades ago, those same whites would tell them that they couldn't fish there, or sell them boats with holes in them. Now the shoe is on the other foot. We need the Kingdom Misery. Come soon Jehovah!"
What he says is truthful, but it doesnt make it right, but I post this just to give an example of how complex racism can be at times. It's not as simple as happy to be white yet overly tanned at the salon and turned orange cracka ass crackas, and "gold teeth-gold chain wearin, fried chicken and biscuit eatin, monkey, ape, baboon, bog thigh, fast runnin, 360 degree basketball dunkin spade Moulan Yan."-great line in Do The Right Thing
By the way, where's the white women? Palmtree hasn't posted any pictures lately.

When did the WT say that homosexual extramarital affairs were not grounds for divorce?
by doubtful ini've heard it said that the watchtower printed an official stance on what qualifies as "adultery" at one point in the 1970s??
they said that a woman was not free to divorce her husband if her husband had sex with another man or with an animal, as such sexual relations did not constitute "becoming one flesh"... apparently vaginal intercourse is the only means of fusing two human bodies together.... what watchtower is such a doctrine found in?
is it in the wt cd-rom?

If that happens, someone call the police so those calls can be traced, because none of those individuals mentioned should be free to roam society without some kind of supervision. Speaking of nuts, whatever happened to the poster Weeping, who was obsessed with Satanism? She even accused Coldplay of Satanism.

New Light @ The 2011 District Convention
by dontplaceliterature in" at the bottom of the image on the back of the invitation raises some eyebrows, but last night in the routine district convention article during the service meeting, i caught that one of the paragraphs mentioned that we would be encouraged to keep a copy of the tract in hand for a discussion during sunday's last talk.
my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?
" represents, or some other fangled idea.
